First Impressions of Battlefield Hard Line “Beta”

Published by Electronic Arts Battlefield Hard Line was brought on by a new developer “Visceral Games”, and they are faced with the challenge by pleasing hardcore Battlefield fans this fall. The game is still in beta, but it plays amazing. It fills like Battlefield with a different setting. The game is focused around cops, and robbers, making it different from the average shooter with a military background. Focusing the game on cops, and robber puts the game at risk with fans not enjoying the changes, but in order to truly make a game that stands out companies have to take risk like this.
The beta only includes one multiplayer map called High Tension with two new game modes: Heist and Blood Money.
The game sounds spectacular, from the moment the player enters the game they are surrounded with calm everyday noise coming from the city. Short after that rare moment of silences comes devastation. The sounds of explosions, and gun fire will hit the player at an alarming rate making it fill like there in a real life battle. Audio directors Paul Gorman, and Andrew Boyd really know what they’re doing when it comes to Battlefield. The game ranges in a variety of weapons with high quality sounds bursting within them.
Depending on where the player is, the frequency of sound given from the enemy can pinpoint the position of their location almost anywhere on the map. The players in the game have accurate dialogue depending on the action that they are doing. Let’s say if the player is running out of ammo the dialogue will kick in to inform players around that he needs ammo. The music in the multiplayer starts to fade in towards the end of the match, to warn people that the match is almost over. This feature is definitely helpful when it comes to inspiration, the players have a burst of energy making sure they finish the match strong.

Battlefield Hardline looks beautiful with its next gen graphics. The team at “Visceral games” and creative Director Ian Milham has added some unique concepts to the game. Battlefield Hardline has added some new gadgets to the game like zip lines. Players are now able to zip line from skyscrapers. Between the muzzle flashes from the gun, and a helicopters exploding in the air, this game shows realistic graphics. Each character’s facial expression interacts with actions going on around them. If a player’s character is seen shooting in the game their face lights up with a powerful emotion. Little details like that makes the game go above and beyond from other games out there.
The map in the beta (High Tension) features a game changing element that alters the map almost completely. Players have the option to destroy a crane in the middle of the map at any given time. This results into a significant change to the game as player will have to doge debris while rushing through clouds of dust particles. As the dust clears players are shown a new environment to continue the match in.
Although this is just a beta review, the game plays like a complete product. Be sure to check out Battlefield Hardline this fall on Oct. 21.

Interview with You Tube’s Swoozie

Local You Tube vlogger Adande Thorne aka ( Swoozie ) hits 2 million subscribers.

Swoozie resides in Orlando, FL, which is where he started his profession gaming career in CGS (Championship Gaming Series North American League) where they paid him to fly around the county and play videogames to compete for $10, 000. At that time he was still working for the “Hard Rock Café”, and people kept coming up to him asking all these questions on how his job works with CGS. To resolve this problem Swoozie decided to make a You Tube channel to tell people what he has been up in his life.

Swoozie had no idea that his channel would blow up this big from starting with only 55 subscribers his first year on You Tube to now having his own panel’s at “Playlist Live” in Orlando, FL. In an interview with Swoozie at Playlist Live he has given some tips on how to create a successful You Tube channel. ImageOne would have to create a video that stands out from the rest, something no one’s has ever seen before. Another important thing when it comes to making a You Tube video is have a colorful thumb nail, having that really catches the viewer’s eyes towards clicking that video. Video editing is just as important as developing content, having the right editing software helps the video develop into a master piece. Swoozie edits on “Final Cut Express” which is $199, if committed one could make a successful career with a You Tube channel.

The next event Swoozie is going to attend is Evo which is a gaming competition held in Las Vegas. The game he’ll be playing there is “Killer Instinct”, a fighting game on the Xbox One. In an interview with Swoozie he was ask on what gaming console he preferred he said “I mean the thing is, I’m a gamer. So a lot of people now like to segregate the whole thing, the thing is were all gamers, and it doesn’t matter if we play on Xbox, PlayStation, Wii, PC, were all on the same team”. Strong words from a You Tube vlogger can go a long way, and this hate that gamers have with each other is just plain dumb.

Swoozie started one of the first let’s play channels called “Press Start” with You Tube vlogger Michelle Phan. That helped his personal channel get a lot of traffic. Adande never thought that his little You Tube channel could turn into this huge media outlet. Now he is making a living doing what he loves, and that is whatever he wants it to be. One day he could be telling a story about his past than post it on You Tube, or another day he could be playing video games for money. It just goes to show with You Tube anyone could make a living doing anything they want with a loyal subscriber base.

Game Review: South Park the Stick of Truth

If you are a fan of South Park you are going to fall in love with this game. South Park the Stick of Truth was released on March 4th. The game was developed by Obsidian Entertainment, and was heavily watch over by South Park creators Matt Stone, and Trey Parker. The creators of South Park had a problem coming up with a release date for the game, because they felt like the game has to be perfect, so they were not going to release it till it was done. It was very well worth it too, the game is filled with amazing material. The story is what anyone could expect from South Park, and that is lots of toilet humor which is not a bad thing. South Park is known for its out rages humor, but going into the game knowing what to expect the player is in for a great night of laughs.

Photo owned by: http://xboxave.comThe story takes place in the town of South Park, and the main character in the game is the new kid he never really gets a real name. The new kid stumbles across the show’s most iconic characters Cartmen, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny while they are role playing a medieval quest about a holy object named the Stick of Truth. Whoever controls the stick controls the universe, which is said many times throughout the game. The whole game is the neighborhood kids playing make believe in Cartmen’s backyard, and from there the story unfolds. The games does a great job using cameos from previous old season of the show, even characters favorites like Mr. Hanky, and Professor Chaos. Throughout playing the campaign the player will expect to run into South Park’s standard well written comedy, with superb animations. The game looks just like an episode of South Park. In the game the player will feel like they are playing the show. The entire game is on a huge free roam map, the player can literally walk where ever they want in the game. It is pretty cool to actually go explore the show and visit well known land marks, like Cartmen house, or Al Gore’s secret base for the capture of the Man Bear Pig. The gameplay fighting style is turn base, which means everyone takes turns attacking.

Photo owned by: http://www.gamewpp.comIt is very easy to level up in the game, and there are items throughout the game to help in prove your charters fighting. The game is made to look poorly done,  at the same time that makes the game look great. The story base in South Park is filled with wild wacky stories, and to just have a chance to play, and experience these stories is just a thrill. If you are looking for a game with countless amount of hours of comedy South Park the Stick of Truth will be perfect to play, but keep in mind this game is not meant for everybody, and it takes quite a bit of an open mind to fully enjoy it.

Dead Rising 3

Dead Rising 3 came out in 2013, and it was a day one release for the Xbox One. I thought the game was pretty good. The main character in the game is Nick Ramos a young mechanic and the game takes place in a city called Los Perdidos. If you never played a Dead Rising game you’re missing out on killing some zombies. The story of the game is alright, but it is a story that everyone could guess. There is a zombie outbreak in the city, and Nick with the help of some other characters  have to get out of the city, that is pretty much it. Of course there is some story in between, but the whole point of the game is just killing zombies. The game play is the best part of the game; there are so many weapons to choose from while playing. At one point in the game I completely forgot that I was even playing a story. In the game Nick can combine almost any weapon to create combo weapons. This game is truly an endless amount of fun. The power of a next gen game console can allow a ton of zombies on the screen all at once, and have the game still running smooth. Now that the game has been out for a while it is kind of dying down a bit in the media. It is defiantly going to be an Xbox One classic though in due time. I’m not trying to say that it is a must have, but if you are someone trying to just kick back and relaxed, this game is for you.

“Titanfall” Beta Review

Titanfall is the new innovation for first person shooters.

Titanfall was created by a co-creator of the “Call of Duty” franchise, along with some of the game developers. For a triple A title this game was only developed with a few developers in a new gaming company call “Respond”.  One can tell that the game developers put the best aspects of first person shooting from experiences working on “Call of Duty”.

The game plays fantastic with amazing next gen graphics. The entire game is multiplayer. The beta only includes the basic game types like team death match, domination, and capture the flag. One of the most interesting aspects of the game is the moment of the pilot the player control. The player’s character in the game is called the “Pilot”. The pilot has a standard setup like in call of duty, guns, grenades, perks, etc. The pilot’s movement involves a jet pack which lets the player wall run, and double jump. Going from point A, to titan-and-pilot_0_0_0_2_0point B has never been better. Rushing past the enemy could only just take few seconds with the right creative mind.

The whole point of the game is not about the players though, it is about the Titans.  Titans are giant robots that the pilots can get into at a certain times in the game. The player will have full control over their mech, with counts amounts of ability for the pilot to use. One of the abilities are that the titan can stop the bullets or missiles from the other titan and shoot them back all at once. Begging in a titan certainly makes that pilot have the advantage towards other pilots without titans. When it comes to a 50 foot robot with a full arsenal going against a 6 foot pilot carrying maybe an assault rifle, the outcome is pretty obvious.

Not to say that the pilot can’t take down a titan, the player just has to be smart about it. The pilot is equipped with a weapon to take down a titan, but mainly from a distances. The pilot can also sneak up on a titan, and destroy it from the inside.

The multiplayer is very different from other games. It is very cinematic, and immersive. Playing multiplayer actually feels like it matters, they have it very story driven even if a match only last 5 or 8 minutes. A great feature that they added in their multiplayer is AI players, which are soldiers named grunts that the game is only allowed to control. It makes the game easer to play because the AI players are not that good at the game. That makes the game stand out from “Call of Duty”, cause in “Call of Duty” players knows if their good or not which can make the game frustrating. Were as in “Titanfall” everyone can just have fun.

Matches start the same every time jumping out of an air ship to the multiplayer map, but it ends different for both sides. Depending on if the player wins, or loses in the match, the losing team has to escape to an air ship to transport them off of the match. While the wining team has to destroy the pilots or the transportations ships to stop anyone from leaving from the enemy team.

“Titanfall” comes out March 11th, and you do not want to miss this gem of games. This is the game that starts the year off on triple A titles for next gen consoles.

“Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag” Game Review

“Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag” is the game that “Assassins Creed 3” should have been. Ubisoft entertainment has out done themselves for this new “Assassins Creed” title. AC4 (Assassins Creed 4) takes place in the world of pirates. Who wouldn’t want to plunder a ship with a crew, and take whatever they want. Not to forget the beautify scenery in the Caribbean while taking command of a ship.

Right in the golden age of pirates’ protagonist Edward Kenway goes on the adventure of a life time doing what he does best, and that is whatever he wants. While playing the game players will experience events recorded in history in the golden age of pirates. Historical figures like Black Beard, and James the Kid appear a counts amount of times playing in Mr. Kenway’s adventure. He stumbles in to problems along his journey were he finds himself-asking the question what is the point of enjoying yourself when it has no long term affect for the future. The story in this game is extremely well written with a memorable protagonist.

The game plays the smoothest out of any of the other Assassins Creed games. Switching between target to target taking out the enemy has never been easier in hand to hand combat. Keeping that in mind it makes the game feel a little repetitive, but that is only one mechanic of the game. Digging deeper inside the game the player will soon realize that there is counts amount of things to do in this open world. Going from playing checkers to harpooning a white whale, and everything in between. That is where the game stand out in its individuality.  AC4 makes the sea look and feel like the real thing. Sailing in calm water can change any second into a thunder storm with wind pushing the ship that Kenway commands from side to side. From that the player have to navigate their ship though the rough sea with water spouts around every corner.

With next gen graphics AC4 is just amazing to just explore the world. Observing the sun in the game could actually hurts someone’s eyes. Viewing a plan empty field AC4 is much more then it could seem. The wind interacts with everything causing the grass, and leafs to move in certain directions or watching a storm in the distances blow the player’s way. It is all of the small details in this video game which makes it stand out.

Over all this is one of the best games of last year to make it to the next gen consoles. It has action, adventure, and drama all in the right places. If you are looking for a good game to start while testing next gen graphics on a new console Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag is the game for you.
