Game Review: South Park the Stick of Truth

If you are a fan of South Park you are going to fall in love with this game. South Park the Stick of Truth was released on March 4th. The game was developed by Obsidian Entertainment, and was heavily watch over by South Park creators Matt Stone, and Trey Parker. The creators of South Park had a problem coming up with a release date for the game, because they felt like the game has to be perfect, so they were not going to release it till it was done. It was very well worth it too, the game is filled with amazing material. The story is what anyone could expect from South Park, and that is lots of toilet humor which is not a bad thing. South Park is known for its out rages humor, but going into the game knowing what to expect the player is in for a great night of laughs.

The new kid stumbles across the show’s most iconic characters Cartmen, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny while they are role playing a medieval quest about a holy object named the Stick of Truth. Whoever controls the stick controls the universe, which is said many times throughout the game. The whole game is the neighborhood kids playing make believe in Cartmen’s backyard, and from there the story unfolds. The games does a great job using cameos from previous old season of the show, even characters favorites like Mr. Hanky, and Professor Chaos. Throughout playing the campaign the player will expect to run into South Park’s standard well written comedy, with superb animations. The game looks just like an episode of South Park. In the game the player will feel like they are playing the show. The entire game is on a huge free roam map, the player can literally walk where ever they want in the game. It is pretty cool to actually go explore the show and visit well known land marks, like Cartmen house, or Al Gore’s secret base for the capture of the Man Bear Pig. The gameplay fighting style is turn base, which means everyone takes turns attacking.

The game is made to look poorly done,  at the same time that makes the game look great. The story base in South Park is filled with wild wacky stories, and to just have a chance to play, and experience these stories is just a thrill. If you are looking for a game with countless amount of hours of comedy South Park the Stick of Truth will be perfect to play, but keep in mind this game is not meant for everybody, and it takes quite a bit of an open mind to fully enjoy it.

Dead Rising 3

Dead Rising 3 came out in 2013, and it was a day one release for the Xbox One. I thought the game was pretty good. The main character in the game is Nick Ramos a young mechanic and the game takes place in a city called Los Perdidos. If you never played a Dead Rising game you’re missing out on killing some zombies. The story of the game is alright, but it is a story that everyone could guess. There is a zombie outbreak in the city, and Nick with the help of some other characters  have to get out of the city, that is pretty much it. Of course there is some story in between, but the whole point of the game is just killing zombies. The game play is the best part of the game; there are so many weapons to choose from while playing. At one point in the game I completely forgot that I was even playing a story. In the game Nick can combine almost any weapon to create combo weapons. This game is truly an endless amount of fun. The power of a next gen game console can allow a ton of zombies on the screen all at once, and have the game still running smooth. Now that the game has been out for a while it is kind of dying down a bit in the media. It is defiantly going to be an Xbox One classic though in due time. I’m not trying to say that it is a must have, but if you are someone trying to just kick back and relaxed, this game is for you.

“Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag” Game Review

“Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag” is the game that “Assassins Creed 3” should have been. Ubisoft entertainment has out done themselves for this new “Assassins Creed” title. AC4 (Assassins Creed 4) takes place in the world of pirates. Who wouldn’t want to plunder a ship with a crew, and take whatever they want. Not to forget the beautify scenery in the Caribbean while taking command of a ship.

Right in the golden age of pirates’ protagonist Edward Kenway goes on the adventure of a life time doing what he does best, and that is whatever he wants. While playing the game players will experience events recorded in history in the golden age of pirates. Historical figures like Black Beard, and James the Kid appear a counts amount of times playing in Mr. Kenway’s adventure. He stumbles in to problems along his journey were he finds himself-asking the question what is the point of enjoying yourself when it has no long term affect for the future. The story in this game is extremely well written with a memorable protagonist.

The game plays the smoothest out of any of the other Assassins Creed games. Switching between target to target taking out the enemy has never been easier in hand to hand combat. Keeping that in mind it makes the game feel a little repetitive, but that is only one mechanic of the game. Digging deeper inside the game the player will soon realize that there is counts amount of things to do in this open world. Going from playing checkers to harpooning a white whale, and everything in between. That is where the game stand out in its individuality.  AC4 makes the sea look and feel like the real thing. Sailing in calm water can change any second into a thunder storm with wind pushing the ship that Kenway commands from side to side. From that the player have to navigate their ship though the rough sea with water spouts around every corner.

With next gen graphics AC4 is just amazing to just explore the world. Observing the sun in the game could actually hurts someone’s eyes. Viewing a plan empty field AC4 is much more then it could seem. The wind interacts with everything causing the grass, and leafs to move in certain directions or watching a storm in the distances blow the player’s way. It is all of the small details in this video game which makes it stand out.

Over all this is one of the best games of last year to make it to the next gen consoles. It has action, adventure, and drama all in the right places. If you are looking for a good game to start while testing next gen graphics on a new console Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag is the game for you.

The hope I have for Bungie’s Destiny game

Mostly everyone knows that Bungie created the “Halo series”. Currently they have been working on a game called “Destiny” witch like “Halo” is a sci-fi. I’ve seen a lot of videos of Destiny and I got to say it has a lot to live up to. I think it looks beautiful, but at the same time it reminds me of halo. The developers really wrap their heads together to form this idea of a massive multiplayer game. One of the coolest things I notice about the game was how easy it was to join people while playing. Something interesting they did was have classes for the characters people create like stealth, tank, etc. I would prefer to use the tank class because it is harder to take down. The game comes out early next year, and I will probably end up getting it just out of respect from the “Halo” games.

My Experiences with the Xbox One

I went out with a buddy of to go get the Xbox One at mid night. I got to say that it was heavy, did not expect that. First thing I did when I opened the box was hold the controller. It was really light, and it felt perfect with my hands. That kept me entertained while waiting for the update get done. When all things were done with the update my friend had to set all of his setting for the Xbox. We had a problem installing a game. When we would try to install it, it would just stay at 0%, and would not move. To fix the problem we turned the internet off, and it started installing. Took forever to install, but we got to download the campaign first which did not take long. Battle field 4 looked beautiful, and it just played so smooth on the Xbox one. I liked it, and I can’t wait to get one myself. With every new release there are hiccups, you just have to wait it out.

Is zombies getting to hard on Call of Duty?

I am sort of new when it comes to “Call of Duty” zombies, I started playing zombies in COD (Call of Duty) black ops one. I enjoyed it very much, and I have great memory’s just meeting new people by playing a round of zombies, that is probably the way I met most of my friends on Xbox. I think that COD black ops 2 zombies is getting to hard because it takes a good amount of time to set up a good play through. Like in the new map “Origins” the player has to turn on six generators just to start up the pack-o-punch machine, also not to mention the ton of doors the player has to buy to get to them. By the time all of this is done it is round 10, and the player has spent most likely 9-15 minutes playing. After all of that the player has everything unlocked and can finally enjoy the map the right way. I’m not saying its bad or anything, its just really time consuming, especially when I unlock everything and everyone on the team dies, that is one of the worst feelings ever. The only option is just to restart the level, everything just takes to long. I remember when I played the old COD zombies maps it was all about just defending one room for awhile, and make sure that you have an assigned window. Then move to the mystery box and camp there, run to jug later and hope that you don’t get down. That was mostly it, just hanging out and shooting. It was simple, there were Easter eggs but not big ones that take hours to complete. I like doing the big Easter eggs some times, but not all the time. I think that in the new COD zombies they should put both types of levels, levels to kick back and hangout, and those really hard levels to do on occasion.

Its a good day to be a GameStop manager

It was announced at the GameStop Expo that all store managers will be getting a PS4 plus seven games on the release date. I think that it is a very smart move for Sony to do this. If customers come in asking question about the new system, they are more likely to have an answer for them now. It is said that all 4,400 GameStop managers are going to get hands on training for the PS4 and Xbox One. That being said I think that it was a good idea on PS4’s part because when you would ask a GameStop employee what console they recommend they will probably lean towards the PS4 because it is something they have, and something they are use to. The seven games that GameStop managers are going to get are Killzon: Shadow Fall, NBA 2K14, Madden NFL 25, FIFA 14, Need for Speed; Rivals, Battlefield 4. The managers are also getting Beyound: Two Souls, but that’s only for the PS3. Now that sounds like a good selection of games, but I can’t say that for all of them, because the only game I would probably get is Battlefield 4. Only because I played battlefield 3, and that game is beautiful on PS3. Its not a for sure thing if the GameStop managers are also going to get a Xbox One, but that is something that Xbox should do just for marketing reasons. Witch I think they probably will because Xbox has been listening to the community on changing the features for the Xbox One and that’s just goes to show they have a open mined. I’ve always seen my self as an Xbox person, but being thin on money I am going to go for the PS4 only because of the price. In my opinion they are both amazing game systems.
